Our method: where CandleGPT's numbers come from
CandleGPT deals with traders' money. You should be able to check where every number comes from. Here are our sources, our calculations and what the tool never does.
What CandleGPT does not do
- It never says what to buy or sell, and gives no personalised investment advice.
- It promises no profit.
- It places no orders: the sync robot reads history and positions, it cannot trade.
- It never asks for your trading account password.
Data sources
| Data | Source |
|---|---|
| Your trades, positions, balance | Your MetaTrader 4 or 5 terminal, through the CandleGPT Sync robot, or a statement you upload |
| Prices for setups | Your own broker's candles, sent by the robot |
| Economic calendar | Public calendar in ForexFactory format |
| Released figures (NFP, CPI…) | An economic data provider and the MetaTrader 5 calendar (published only if two robots give the same figure or it comes from a trusted source) |
| Central banks | Official feeds of the Fed, the ECB and the Bank of England |
The calculations, without AI
The numbers that matter are computed by the software, never guessed by the AI:
- Money at risk: size × stop distance × tick value from your broker.
- Percentage of the account: money at risk ÷ balance.
- Size for your risk: the formula in our position size guide, rounded to your broker's lot step.
- Risk level (low, medium, high): high with no stop, more than 2% of the account at stake, a high-impact release within 30 minutes, or a size at least twice your usual size; medium for more than 1% at stake, a release within 3 hours, a target smaller than the risk, a bigger size than usual, or a losing history on this kind of trade.
- Habit report: statistics on your closed trades (sessions, days, size, trades after a loss…), with a reliability level based on the number of trades.
Setups and their results
Setups apply the public rules of classic strategies, the same for everyone, on the markets you choose. Every setup is tracked to the end: target hit, stop hit or expired. Each strategy's results are published in the app, losses included. If target and stop are hit in the same candle, we count the stop. Detailed rules are in our guides, for example the London breakout.
The role of AI
The AI (Claude, by Anthropic) is used to explain: an educational chart reading, a written risk review of a trade, coach answers, a summary of a central bank announcement. It receives the numbers computed by the software and is instructed never to recommend a trade, predict a direction or invent a number. It can be wrong: always check what matters to you.

Trading involves a high risk of losing money. This guide is educational: it is not investment advice and does not tell you what to buy or sell. Past results do not predict future results.
